  1. Engine knock is such an inconsequential, nothingness term for what could be the biggest problem of all. A new engine often means scrapping the car on anything pre-owned. Shelling out fifty quid on a diagnostic might seem like dead money to a lot of people but the guys at Kingshurst Smiths Wood told me about a girl who didn't heed her oil light and ended up seizing her engine. Car was scrapped, could have been prevented with a bottle of oil and a small spot weld. Instead of £60, it cost her £600.
